Skincare Tips For Summer

It's that time of year again. The days are getting shorter, the weather is warmer, and summertime is just around the corner! For many people, this means sandals and shorts, but it can mean skin troubles for others. Between sun exposure and heat-induced sweat, your skin needs a lot more care in the summer than in other seasons. This blog will provide you with some skincare tips to make sure your skin stays healthy while you enjoy everything that summer has to offer!

Why Your Skin Requires Special Treatment During Summer
Your body is more likely to be dehydrated in the summertime, which can cause dryness and flaking on your face. This makes it harder for sunscreen to stay on the surface of your skin; it will also make you more likely to suffer from sunburn.Sunscreen is an important line of defense against the harmful UV rays that can damage your skin and lead to cancer, but it needs time to absorb into the skin. If you're going straight from being outside in the heat directly under hot fluorescent lights at work or school, then there's not enough time for the sunscreen to absorb, and you can still be at risk.
Because of all these factors, it is especially important that summertime skincare include a good moisturizer. If your skin gets dry or flaky from being dehydrated, applying lotion will help prevent further damage. It also provides an extra layer of protection from the sun.

Skincare Tips For Summer
1) Wear sunscreen! While it's important to wear sunscreen all year long, you'll want a higher SPF in the summer. Look for at least an SPF 30 or more.2 ) Apply moisturizer liberally immediately after showering and again before going outside. This will help ensure that your skin has enough time to absorb the moisture before going back outside.
3) Limit your time in the sun. If you can't avoid being in it for a prolonged period, then wear protective clothing and reapply sunscreen every couple of hours.

4) Avoid hot fluorescent lights. If you're spending all day under them, your sunscreen won't be able to fully protect you, and your skin will get dry!

5) Drink plenty of water throughout the day. This can help keep your body hydrated so that it doesn't have to draw moisture from other places like your face.

6) Avoid caffeine and alcohol. While they may give you a quick pick me up, both can dehydrate your body.

7) Avoid hot showers. While it may feel good to take a steamy shower on a hot day, the humidity can cause your skin to lose moisture more quickly.

Keep Your Skin Healthy:
-Make sure to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables that contain vitamins A, C, E. These are all antioxidants that help fight the damage caused by free radicals in your body;-If your skin is dry or flaky, try using a gentle exfoliant for facial care every few days. This will get rid of dead surface cells and keep your skin looking healthy;
-Try using a gentle cleanser to wash away sweat and grime after exercising or spending time in the sun. This will help prevent acne by removing excess oil, dirt, and dead cells from your pores;

-If you do get an especially bad sunburn, try applying aloe vera gel to your skin. This can help soothe the pain and reduce redness;

-If you suffer from acne or clogged pores, try using gentle chemical exfoliants. This can help clear out your pores and keep them looking clean;

-Apply a thick moisturizer to dry skin before bedtime, so it has time to be absorbed by morning!
